READ: Producer Scott Storch Broke??
January 14, 2008 by digiwaxxdreamteam
A Florida insider told Page Six Storch’s credit cards were recently declined at a Miami club. “He’s had to pay cash for everything,” said the source. In 2006, Rolling Stone reported that Storch , who has worked with 50 Cent, Fat Joe, Christina Aguilera and Beyoncé, was worth $70 million. But by August 2007, Forbes had that number down to $17 million…. A rep for the mogul had “no comment” for Page Six.

January 10, 2008 by digiwaxxdreamteam
The production team known as Darkroom Productions recently inked a record deal with Koch Records through their own label, Young American Recordings, for a full album deal. The team, Young Avon and Jamal Roberts (originally from Baltimore and Washington D.C., respectively), rose to fame through their credits on the HBO cable series, The Wire. The team is slated to release their first LP, Hamsterdam – The Album April 1, 2008, which originates from their original Hamsterdam mixtape series started in 2005. Links to their music are above, as usual enjoy, and this time B-MORE STAND UP!!!
WATCH: Athlete!!
January 9, 2008 by digiwaxxdreamteamI saw this band perform this weekend on TV and absolutely fell in love with them. They call themselves Athlete; they’re originally from Deptford, London; and they know how to move a crowd like it’s nobody’s business. Here’s their video for Wires, off of their second album Tourist (Parlophone, 2005), which followed their hit debut album, Vehicles and Animals (Parlophone, 2003). Interestingly enough Tourist hit #1 on the U.K. music charts and despite this, the band hasn’t garnered as much commercial success stateside as one would think (although there have been interesting features in a few Hollywood movies in addition to television series).

The band’s most recent album, Beyond the Neighbourhood, entered into the U.K. music charts at #5 in September 2007 via Parlophone again; and included is their video, “Hurricane,” from their most recent album…peace and enjoy! -cP

WATCH: Joell Ortiz – “Ups and Downs”
January 6, 2008 by digiwaxxdreamteamHere’s the new video from Brooklyn’s own Joell Ortiz called “Ups and Downs.” Dope song with a dope video, can’t really go wrong, as always, enjoy. Also for those not familiar with Ortiz, check out his MySpace page here, and I’ve also included a few of his other videos here – already an impressive resume for not even having the spotlight on him for that long. Check them out: “Hip Hop,” “125 Grams,” “Brooklyn Bullshit,” and “Latino.” As they say in the old country…Brooklyn Stand Up!!!
